Point and shoot with Blue Estate

You like dark humour? Some cheesy over the top stereo type bad guys and cliches ? Then you’ll have fun with Blue Estate, like me.
I’ll start off by saying this game has been getting a bad rap and I disagree. I had so much fun playing this game, not just me, the people I played it with too. Blue Estate is an on rail shooter, that works with the motion controls of your ps4 controller and is packed with black humor.

Let me set the stage for you: It’s the late seventies, early eighties. You are Tony Luciano, the loser no-good homicidal psychopathic son of LA’s crime boss Don Luciano. Your girl and best dancer Cherry Popz (yeah, you run a strip club) got kidnapped by Sik Brother’s gang. You go to the Chinese restaurant, take out your gold plated Desert Eagle and start shooting to rescue your girl. Now Sik is pissed, so he kidnaps your father’s prize possession: a million dollar horse called Blue Estate. Enter: Clarence, an ex-Navy SEAL, broke and now a hit man hired by Don Luciano to clean up Tony’s mess. All this is narrated by a chubby pimpled P.I. who never sleeps (and rarely bathes) and is kinda fanboying over Tony Luciano, named Roy Devine Jr.

Sounds like fun, ey?

It’s based on the graphic novel of the same title by Viktor Kalvachev & Kosta Yanev.

The motion controls are a bit iffy at first, once you get the hang of it, it only annoys every so often. The dark humor in the game kept me going. The silly obstacles they put in your way to make shooting harder;  from a Chihuahua bursting with steroids humping your leg to your greased out hair getting in your way, made me giggle.

But the most fun I had was with a friend next to me on the couch playing it co-op together. Now if only I could hook up my Playstation One time splitter gun to my PS4.

Blue Estate the game is available on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.
